Government of Canada: Legalization and Regulation of Cannabis Although the possession of cannabis is legal in some U.S. states, it remains illegal under U.S. federal laws. Do not attempt to cross the Canada-U.S. border with any amount of cannabis in any form, even if you are travelling to a U.S. state that has legalized possession of cannabis. Comment In June 2018, the federal government passed a bill to legalize recreational cannabis in Canada. The provincial government has provided new regulations for businesses to operate. There is a huge potential for the distribution of branded and white-labeled cannabis products. For more information, please see Section 5 of the Cannabis Licensing Application Guide. Develop expertise to become a Master Grower and Micro Cultivator License holder. Cannabis production must be in compliance with all federal and provincial regulations including, but not limited to the Agricultural Land Commission Act and the Cannabis Act. Any inquiries regarding cannabis production in the ALR or the recent provincial regulatory changes should be directed to the Agricultural Land Commission (ALC). Contact information for the ALC and Health Canada can be found at the bottom of this page. https://childpsychologyinstitute.ie/community/profile/albertinanathan/ 3. Registering with Health Canada to designate someone else to produce the cannabis for you.  This is not the first time Health Canada has singled out the medical industry, with previous proposals to tighten the framework defeated in the Supreme Court as recently as 2016. The new measures would constitute further discrimination against cannabis patients, perpetuating the stigma that surrounds the industry and the misconception that cannabis is inherently dangerous. Highlighting this back and forth between RCMP and Health Canada, Bill Blair—Canada’s Minister of Public Safety and one of the government’s main spokesperson on legalization, as well as the MP for the Ontario riding of Scarborough Southwest—pointed out growing outside the allowances of a licence isd a law enforcement issue, not a Health Canada issue.
